Some friends and I headed out today on an amazing hike in Mt. Baker National Forest. We enjoyed an at times snow filled excursion on the Damfino Lakes to Excelsior Ridge Trail. Friends

I did this same hike one year ago to the day and there was no snow as you can see below. I don’t know if that means we are in for more snow this year or if it was just My. Baker National Forest throwing us a curve ball. Last Year

Either way we were up for the challenge. The sun was warm and the fresh mountain air felt great. Lake

Snow always has a way of slowing the hike down, but I like to think that it gives us more time to enjoy the view. Snow Trail Through the Woods

And what a view, am I right? What a View

That’s not to say we didn’t feel the burn in our legs on the way up! Going Up

My faithful companion sure had fun on this hike. My Dog Loving this Hike

Along the way we ran across a mountain lion’s paw print. Now that is a big kitty! Waterfall

While I didn’t have an exact GPS of the course we took this is a rough estimate of the 6.4 mile loop we did. Waterfall

You can read more about it here. This really was a great hike, I would highly recommend it to anyone that finds themselves in the Mt. Baker National Forest.
